Community Involvement

RE/MAX Elite in the Community

Hope Mission

Starting in 1929, when Reverend Harold Edwardson established a soup kitchen in Edmonton’s inner-city serving meals to hundreds of people struggling with unemployment and homelessness at the onset of the Depression, Hope Mission has grown into a not-for-profit Christian social care agency caring for impoverished and homeless men, women and children in Alberta. Basic and emergency care are provided to over 800 people daily as well as counsel and referral services for men, women, and youth.

Wild Fires in Fort McMurray

On May 1, 2016, a wildfire began southwest of Fort McMurray, Alberta. On May 3, it swept through the community, forcing the largest wildfire evacuation in Alberta’s history. Personnel from the Canadian military, Royal Canadian Mounted Police, as well as firefighting forces from Alberta, other Canadian provincial agencies, and South Africa responded to the wildfire. Aid for evacuees was provided by various governments and via donations through the Canadian Red Cross and other local and national charitable organizations.

Our Agents in the Community

Wendy Theberge

You know when you are thinking about doing something and somehow the universe listens and suddenly an opportunity presents itself?
I went to sign a listing contract with a client and ended up signing on to help out at Ronald McDonald House. This is a magical place with a simple mission to help families who have no choice but to move to Edmonton to be close to medical care for their sick kids.

Michael Pino

We as a team try to incorporate events around raising money for charity. We try to create a synergy amongst our sphere to feel like they’re a part of something really good. Our past events have been primarily raising money for the Children’s miracle network however we also raised money for the  St Nicks Soccer Academy (inner city school with an incredible soccer program to get kids in team sport).

Celebrating 25 Years in the Community

Childrens Miracle Network

Hot Air Balloon

The RE/MAX Hot Air Balloon is one of the most widely recognized corporate symbols in the world. It began back in 1978, as spectators at the Albuquerque Hot Air Balloon Festival were among the first members of the public to see a red, white and blue balloon with a strange word—RE/MAX—curved around it on either side. Today, the RE/MAX balloon represents real estate excellence to millions of home buyers and sellers in nearly 100 countries worldwide.

Miracle Home Program

RE/MAX is celebrating its 25 year partnership with the Children’s Miracle Network! Since 1992, RE/MAX has been the exclusive real estate partner to the Children’s Miracle Network raising over $60 million through the Miracle Home Program. Through this program, agents can make a direct donation to Children’s Miracle Network from each transaction, which helps more than 2.6 million children receive quality care from children’s hospitals across Canada each year.

RE/MAX Elite has a 10 year accumulative total donation to CMN for the brokerage of $539,237.50.

Quest for Excellence (Western Canada)

Quest for Excellence is a bursary program established in Western Canada to recognize the community contributions of Grade 12 students. Each year, 16 students are awarded $1,000 each for demonstrating strong leadership, motivation and communication skills, as well as for their volunteer experience, participation in charitable events or fundraising, and contributions that enrich the lives of others.

Organ Donor Awareness (Western Canada)

RE/MAX of Western Canada is proud to support National Organ Donor Awareness Week every April as designated by the Canadian Association of Transplantation. With the continued support of RE/MAX of Western Canada and other organizations helping spread the word on the need for organ donors, hundreds of transplants can be done each year in Canada.
